During your initial appointment, your oral surgeon will discuss the diagnosis and treatment options and offer plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions. While they may be able to provide treatment on the same day as the consultation, it is often necessary to return for surgery on a later day.
One way you can ensure a smooth consultation is to provide us with the following information:
- Your surgical referral slip, along with any X-rays (if applicable)
- A current list of any medications you take
- Submission of your medical or dental insurance before the consultation (may be submitted via our website)
Additionally, let us know in advance of your appointment if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery. Common examples include diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany patients under the age of 18 during the consultation.
If you wish to have surgery, be aware that our practice requires a preoperative consultation and physical examination for your safety and well-being.
While same-day treatment is not guaranteed, we strive to provide prompt surgery and meet your needs whenever possible.
